Skills For Success (SFS)

Skills for Success provides support & stabilization services to meet the unique needs of children and families involved with the Department of Children & Families (DCF). The program focuses on ensuring children's safety, stability, and well-being.

We offer two youth support services:

The Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program and/or Educational and Vocational Youth Support Program.

Transitional Age Youth (TAY)

Our goal is to empower Transitional-Aged Youth (TAY) by helping them build the critical skills they need to live independently. Our program provides personalized support to adolescents and young adults, guiding them as they secure food, housing, employment, financial assistance, and health care. Every service we offer is tailored to meet the unique needs of each youth on their journey to self-sufficiency.

TAY Mentors provide guidance in life skills, employment, education, financial management, and personal development, while fostering positive social networks. Services are delivered in real-time within the community through hands-on activities like banking, attending job fairs, grocery shopping, and using public transportation. The program equips youth with tools and resources to thrive in independent living.

Referrals to this program are accepted if the family is involved with the Department of Children and Families, and only DCF or Area Lead Agency can refer. While we do not accept standard referrals, there are other ways to enroll. Please explore these options to access our programs and services. We look forward to helping you through these alternative channels. If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to reach out to us by phone.
