Skills For Success (SFS)

Sessions are one-on-one and will be held where is most convenient for the youth. Some examples include: the youth's home, foster home, kinship home, congregate care program, community/organization location, virtual, etc. Above all, mentors will connect with the youth in environments where they feel safe.

Diverse and skilled mentors with firsthand experience working with transitional aged youth in a supportive setting, as well as those with lived experience to effectively support and empower youth in their successful transition to adulthood.

We are committed to helping youth enrolled in the Department of Children and Families (DCF) achieve academic and vocational success. The Educational & Vocational Youth Support program connects youth with tailored opportunities to build the educational and career skills they need, guided by the individualized goals established at the time of referral.

By working closely with the Department of Children & Families, the youth, and their guardians, we assess each individual's unique needs and interests, creating personalized action plans that connect them with the right services. Our program is designed to help youth overcome barriers, foster personal growth, and gain access to transformative community resources that can change the trajectory of their lives.

Support areas include school readiness, attendance, coaching, tutoring, progress tracking, and career exploration, empowering youth to achieve personal development and succeed academically and vocationally.

Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults: Ages 6-23

Referrals to the Skills for Success program are accepted if the family is involved with the Department of Children and Families, and only DCF or Area Lead Agency can refer. While we do not accept standard referrals, there are other ways to enroll. Please explore these options to access our programs and services.
