Parents as Teachers (PAT)
Parents As Teachers works with all families who are expecting a child and those who have a child up to the age of five years old and reside in the Greater Fall River area. The emphasis is on parent-child interaction, development centered parenting, and family well-being.
The program works with parents from prenatal to kindergarten age by completing family centered assessments and following a structured curriculum to enhance knowledge of child development and increase parent child bonding and interaction using fun developmental activities.
Our Certified Parent Educators will pro vide personal visits, group connections, screening, and resource networking. This program helps parents to:
Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development & improve parenting practice.
Provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues.
Prevent child abuse and neglect.
Increase children’s school readiness and school success.
