Aspire
ASPIRE (Achieve Success Promote Individual Resilience & Excellence) is a free, supportive program for students at Keith, Normandin, and Roosevelt Middle Schools in New Bedford and Talbot Middle School in Fall River. This program helps middle schoolers develop positive behaviors, nurture their mental well-being, and embrace a healthy, substance-free lifestyle all within a safe, fun, and encouraging environment.
ASPIRE Success Coaches understand that middle school students thrive when they feel a sense of belonging, have opportunities to learn, and can have fun. The program offers:
1:1 sessions during the school day to support academic, social, and emotional growth
After-school groups 3–4 days per week, where students can socialize, have fun, and build new skills
ASPIRE groups use fun, creativity, and connection to help youth build essential life skills, including:
Effective communication
Healthy relationships and boundaries
Self-regulation
Substance use early intervention and prevention In addition.
ASPIRE also holds fun family events that provide opportunities for all ASPIRE families to come together to enjoy good food and good company, creating space for meaningful interactions. Educational family events provide guardians with valuable information on topics affecting their children, while youth participate in engaging, age-appropriate activities that support their growth and development.
