We’re Honored to be a Recipient of a $15,000 Community Impact Grant from NY Life!

Child & Family Services, an organization which works to strengthen families and the communities in which they live, was awarded a $15,000 Community Impact Grant from New York Life. The grant will support the agency's adoption program, dedicated to facilitating adoption services for children under DCF custody. These children, often older or part of a sibling group, have endured prolonged waits for their ideal forever family. Many of them also contend with physical and/or emotional challenges, necessitating tailored care and support.

“We are grateful for New York Life’s investment in our adoption program, which will change many lives for the better,” said Wendy Botelho, CEO of Child & Family Services. “Without the support from New York Life, we wouldn’t be able to offer such personalized support and transparent guidance throughout the adoption process.” Last year, the program finalized 20 adoptions, completed 2 guardianships, and secured 4 pre-adoptive home placements.

“I’m proud to work for a company that encourages its agents and employees to devote their time, energy and talents to support the needs and priorities of their local community,” said Stacey Miner, agent of New York Life Company’s Bridgewater, MA General Office, and member of Child & Family Service’s Board of Directors. “We are pleased that our partnership will have a long-lasting impact on CFS and the population they serve."

The Community Impact Grant program awards grants of up to $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations, which are championed by New York Life agents and employees. Since the program’s inception in 2008, 850 grants totaling more than $12 million have been awarded to nonprofits across the country.
