Family Support & Training Program
The Community Service Agency (CSA) serves children and adolescents who are at risk of hospitalization due to behavioral health issues by using the strengths of the youth, family, team, and community.
Our Family Support & Training (FS&T) service provides structured, one-to-one strength-based support to help navigate parenting. Your FS&T partner works closely with the Care Coordinator (for youth in ICC) to help the parent/caregiver of the youth with:
Teaching the parent/caregiver how to navigate the child-serving systems
Identifying available services and support systems in the community
Developing connections with self-help or support groups
Supporting and coaching the parent/caregiver in reaching goals
Most often, a Family Support and Training (FS&T) staff is assigned alongside a Care Coordinator to work together with the family to achieve set goals, create a family vision, and help identify and monitor progress towards transition. In some cases, a guardian may only be in need of a one-on-one support from a family partner.
The CSA offers FS&T standalone cases for families in which this rings true and can be accessed through a referral.
A standalone referral can only be made by a youth's outpatient therapist, in-home therapy team or in-home behavioral team, as the family partner is required to have a HUB for communication.
If you think a family and/or guardian would benefit from the support of a family partner, reach out to inquire more.
